Every phone needs great ring tones... I guess?
"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before..."

No red flags with that list....

I can't fault anyone for wanting this sort of tech to be possible, or for investigating whether it can be, but this whole endeavor looks shady.

So, old dead thread. BUT, new updates apparently. I'm certainly skeptical of a Soulphone, sounds a little too good to be true, but apparently Schwartz has been making progress.

A new yearly update. Things are going on it seems. Still a bit too...ambitious? For me but if it works it works.
They've certainly cleaned up the website, but this still seems shady to me. I don't sell snake oil so much as self-delusion about what they're going to accomplish.
I'm grateful to you for posting the update.

It's some time since I last made a visit and was surprised to be 'summoned' by this recent posting in the thread to which I am still subscribed.  Firstly, though, I had to fish out an old computer to find my login details!

I am an individual who needs no persuasion about our survival beyond corporeal death so I am in awe of the dedication being shown to the development of this hoped-for communication device.

I will accept that with persistence a device might emerge providing some limited measure of contact with the denizens of the 'postmaterial world'.  But I have the deepest misgivings that what may eventually emerge will display even the simplest telephony capability of a basic terrestrial telephone - remember them?

I'm far from persuaded, however, it could reasonably be called 'soulphone' and I anyway cringe at that word, but it's a sexy one and grabs attention so soulphone is what it may well end up being called.  Not in my lifetime though, I suspect.   Wink

I don't think a "soulphone" will ever be developed capable of communication with spirits at will. This is very likely directly counter to the way physical reality is designed along with the way humans are embedded in physical bodies. The "powers that be" have apparently planned it out that contact with and communication with the spiritual planes of existence is generally deliberately prevented (except for rare occurrences), along with readily accessing dramatic paranormal powers like psi, ESP, and things like past life memories. This is because these are abilities of the soul, not humans. Humans are supposed to struggle with the limitations of physical life and thereby fully learn the necessary lessons. At least that's my take on this.

I hold similar doubts about a phone-like device being developed although I'm not persuaded there's any divine dictum preventing it.

My view is that the sciences of the physical and etheric dimensions are simply incompatible, even assuming there are sciences 'over there' of any sort we'd understand as science.  Some form of yes/no device may be a possibility as there are abundant accounts of discarnates interfering with our electronic devices - lights switched on or off for example.  Simple interactions with physical objects I've been told are not that difficult.
