Is physical mediumship fraudulent?

Here is one of my favorites.

It is a hammer head on a needle attached to the knee to levitate tables.

Far left is magician Joseph Dunninger with a hook device for levitating tables.

There was also a trick with a slotted ring and pin.

All these methods were used in physical mediumship to move tables.

Yes it is taken from an old magazine piece that Harry Houdini wrote called "How I Unmask the Spirit Fakers".

Some of the others were from Hereward Carrington or Joseph Dunninger.
I feel like Prescott has dealt with a lot of this stuff on his blog? There are so many cases and one has to deal with the back & forth on a lot of this.

I'm pretty neutral on physical mediumship since I've not witnessed it nor have I looked into it deeply.

I'm trying to arrange to attend a demonstration.

They are out there. But hard to find and hard to get in.

Of course you need to take what you see and decide. There are lots of way for fakers to fake. And sitting in a chair 10 feet away, you won't be able to employ any controls.

So if you are inclined not to believe, I suppose seeing it face to face probably won't convince you.

Yeah I had planned to see a medium but timing didn't work out.

My hope is to attend some seances in the future though.

These photos by Sven Turk and others are made by making multiple exposures on the same film. So obvious from inspection they are fraudulent.

To answer the OP: yes I believe all physical mediumsship is fraud.

Please explain.

I see some motion blur in a few places. But wouldn't one expect transparency if it was a double exposure? Anything else? Do you see transparency anywhere?

Thanks

Motion blur is to be expected when the light is dull. On some of his other photos it's easier to see the levating object eclipsing hands in unnatural ways. Let me see if i can find examples tomorrow.
