Yes I had a quick look through it, Stan. He's too idealistic for me and a bit wet round the ears. (foot > groin ? ) Wink
Sorry, we are changing the topic. Tim, meet me at the deviant corner at midnight. Come alone.  Choice of knives or fists?  Surprise LOL
Oh my God, I hate all this.   Surprise

Who's wet behind the ears? Brand or the guest? (In your opinion.)

Not really. I just wondered if you thought you knew more about the inner workings of international relations than the guest.

Not sure I can agree there. TV is about promoting a worldview, trying to represent a particular dreamworld which it wants people to sleepwalk inside.

That's why I hardly watch much TV at all - in its entirety it is marketing something which seems pretty alien to me. The aim of TV producers is to hold people trapped within that dream.

I think you (basically) said you disagreed while going on to agree with me.

I don't buy into any conscious worldview agreement between TV producers beyond consumerism, but otherwise ratings = marketing.

Point is you aren't going to see content on TV out of altruism whether its truth seeking or other brands UNLESS it serves the primary master (ratings, marketing, selling ---> consumerism).

My two cents.

I think Brand is about equally annoying and inspiring. He's definitely someone worth listening to imo.

Ross can be counted as one of the few people that has seen life from the inside of 'the establishment' but had the balls/vision to recognise how sick it was, and took a leap across the abyss. Respect is due.

I'm pretty neutral on Brand. I've seen some stuff he did and I thought if you can get past his strong personality then what he's saying is usually at least worth hearing and thinking about.

I was pretty shocked by Ross' credentials. That's why I was asking what part of the interview was wet behind the ears. It's pretty clear that capitalist materialism spells planetary death. We need to talk about and think about alternative systems of organization.

All in my opinion.

No, Chuck you're just being yourself. In answer to your question, NO. Did I say I did ? However I think I obviously know more about human nature that Carne does with idiotic statements like this one from the interview.

"...People are put in circumstances that makes them behave badly, people are not innately evil, they wouldn't otherwise choose to do evil things"

That is one of the most naïve, crass sentiments I've ever heard from someone who would aspire to change the world. Truly scary !

Not from me Stan.
