Do you reference the work of J. W. Dunne?

Oh yeah. [Image: smile.png]  I describe him as my dream mentor. I guess you know An Experiment In Time?

In many respects, I see my book as expanding on his. I've taken his basic experiment but looked at the phenomenon a little differently, focusing on such things as the startling frequency of these dreams (1 out of 4 in my experience), how quickly they come true (sometimes instantly), the astonishing strength of the evidence and why we miss it, spiritual implications, and more detailed instructions for experimenters.

I take it you've read Dunne's book, Mac? He's a fascinating guy, and, as you may know, one of the important figures, along with the Wright brothers, in the development of powered flight. Earned a whole bunch of money from his many aeronautical patents. Which makes it a bit harder, I think, for skeptics to point to him as just another crazy psi fanatic.

FYI- read the book. Pretty sure different Jake.

Unless you changed the last name and I posted stuff on Skeptico that I totally forget.

Hi Jake! Seems there's been a misunderstanding. The Jake I was talking to, and who I quoted in the book, is known here as SoulAtman. If you look at his earlier post in this thread, you'll see what I mean. (In it, he quotes messages from a private conversation.)

I replied to your post, thanking you, because you wished me luck with my book. But I didn't understand what you meant by "my pleasure." Now I do!
Hey Bruce, look what I have:

I may take a few days away from the forum while reading it... I hope that you are ready for my questions afterwards. :-)

Hey E.,

Your image has me flummoxed. Basically, all I can see is a big gray area, with some white off to the right side.

Are you saying that you have my book and are about to read it? If so, thanks! I look forward to talking about it with you, and yes—I'm ready for your questions. Smile

Yup. I'm not sure how to reduce the size, usually the forum platform does that automatically. The dark area is leather, from my sofa.

For information purposes, a 16% size version:
